A collection exploring time, survival and the transformation of identity beyond structure
The Fall Winter 2016–2017 collection, Time, explores the concept of time — not as something measurable, but as something that dissolves. What happens when time, as we know it, disappears? When structure fades, and only survival, instinct and adaptation remain? This collection imagines that world.
The collection is built around a speculative future — a world in which time has lost its meaning, and humanity has been reduced to those who endure. A collective of survivors emerges: “The ones they could not take down.”
They no longer live by clocks or seasons, but by rhythm — day and night, instinct and necessity. Cultures have merged, identities have blurred, and what remains is a synthesis of influences.
References range from neo-punk to tribal elements, from survival gear to something almost ceremonial. The result is not a direct translation of any one culture, but a layered, evolving identity. Nature is no longer separate from the human — it becomes part of it.

The collection combines a wide spectrum of materials and textures. Leather remains a core element, used both structurally and as a second skin. This is contrasted with heavier knits, raw fabrics and layered constructions that feel almost assembled rather than designed. Pieces appear worn, adapted, reconfigured — as if they have lived through time rather than being created at a single moment.
Silhouettes shift between fitted and oversized. Tight leather dresses and trousers emphasise the body, while large outerwear, scarves and layered garments distort it. There is a constant tension between control and freedom, structure and erosion.

The collection is defined by pieces that combine strength with transformation.
Lace-up leather dresses contour the body while introducing movement and disruption through lacing and slits. They feel both controlled and undone.
Patterned suits and coordinated sets introduce a graphic layer to the collection, breaking the dominance of black with structured visual rhythm.
Oversized knits and textured outerwear create volume and protection, wrapping around the body almost like armour.
Accessories play a crucial role. Large necklaces, layered elements and constructed details extend the garments into something more symbolic — somewhere between function and ritual.
The collection was presented at Louwman Exclusive in Utrecht, during a live event setting.
Music was performed live by Moke, together with Sharon den Adel of Within Temptation, adding a performative layer to the show. Sound and movement became integral to the experience, reinforcing the emotional tone of the collection.
The setting — a luxury automotive environment — created a strong contrast with the narrative of survival and transformation. This tension between worlds added another dimension to the presentation.

Time represents a moment where narrative, material and presentation fully converge.
