A collection built around brotherhood, identity and the strength of belonging to something shared
The Fall Winter 2015–2016 collection, Chapter Friday, moves away from individual identity and into something collective. Inspired by the structure and culture of motorcycle clubs, the collection explores what it means to belong — not as a surface statement, but as a shared code between people.
It is a collection rooted in connection, strength and presence.
The collection is built around the idea of a fictional motorcycle club: Chapter Friday MC. Not as a literal interpretation, but as a framework for exploring brotherhood, hierarchy and identity within a group.
Motorcycle culture carries a strong visual language — leather, wear, insignia, repetition — but beneath that lies something more important: loyalty, trust and shared experience.
By placing the collection within this context, the focus shifts from the individual to the group. Identity is no longer defined in isolation, but through connection.
The choice of Paradigm in Groningen as the location reinforces this idea. A raw, industrial environment, often compared to Berlin’s underground scene, where structure is present but never forced.

Leather remains the dominant material throughout the collection, used in jackets, trousers, vests and accessories. The material is not treated as a luxury statement, but as something functional — something that carries wear, movement and time.
A key development within this collection is the collaboration with Mano Macchiato, where leather pieces were hand-dyed to emphasise and reshape the body visually. By applying colour strategically, the garments create optical shifts in proportion — highlighting or reducing certain areas.
Alongside leather, heavier fabrics are introduced to support the overall structure of the collection. The materials are chosen for durability and presence, rather than refinement alone.
The finishing remains raw, controlled but not polished, allowing the garments to feel lived-in rather than constructed.

The collection is defined by strong silhouettes and layered combinations. Leather vests, worn over loose tanks or fitted shirts, create a balance between structure and exposure.
Outerwear plays a central role. Long coats, biker jackets and heavy layers establish a clear presence, often combined with slim trousers or leather pants to maintain tension within the silhouette.
For women, fitted leather dresses and skirts introduce a more direct, physical presence. These pieces are often combined with heavier outer layers, creating contrast between exposure and protection.
For men, the collection leans into a more grounded aesthetic. Leather trousers, boots and layered tops create a silhouette that feels both functional and deliberate.
Details such as belts, hardware and accessories are integrated rather than added, reinforcing the idea of garments as part of a system rather than standalone pieces.
The collection was presented at Paradigm in Groningen, transformed into a motorcycle clubhouse for the evening.
The show opened with two Harley Davidson motorcycles entering the space from opposite sides, setting the tone immediately. Sound, movement and environment became part of the presentation, rather than a backdrop.
The catwalk was positioned at ground level, placing the audience directly within the space. This removed distance between viewer and collection, turning the show into a shared experience rather than a staged presentation.
The event was further amplified through a 360-degree livestream, allowing the show to be experienced beyond the physical location.

Chapter Friday marks a shift from individual expression to collective identity. Not as a loss of self, but as a different way of defining it.
